We are now stocking the KTM8-1 Link and KTM8-DAKAR Link from Kouba. This link can be used on the 690/701/700 bikes. None of the bikes require any additional modifications for mounting (ie no grinding necessary).  

KTM8-1:

  • 2008-2018 KTM 690 - 1" Lower
  • 2019+ KTM 690 - 1.25" Lower
  • Husqvarna 701 - 1.25" Lower
  • GasGas 700 - 1.25" Lower

KTM8-DAKAR:

  • 2008-2018 KTM690 - 3/8" Lower
  • 2019+ KTM 690 - 5/8" Lower
  • Husqvarna 701 - 5/8" Lower
  • GasGas 700 - 5/8" Lower

The links are CNC machined from billet aircraft grade aluminum. You can read install instructions and sag setting recommendations directly from the Kouba website: KOUBA

Disclaimer: Lowering the rear more than the front can change the geometry and could affect the handling. Lessening the rear sag and/or sliding the front fork tubes up will make it turn quicker but be less stable on the straits and visa versa.

Great Solution for Short Inseam!

Despite years of riding experIence both on and off-road, at 5’8” and 30” inseam, the stock height of my new 701 enduro was just not very confidence-inspiring. The Kouba link provided a 1.25” reduced seat height which admittedly at first didn’t sound like much, but in practice is perfect for my liking. I can’t tell a difference in handling the road duties on the way to the woods. Where I ride in VA/WV, the suspension is constantly being called upon for rocks, ruts, fast sprints, and hill climbs. With the Kouba link installed, the damping and rebound performs without any noticeable difference. I’m glad I got in there to change it. Apparently Husqvarna doesn’t have grease available in Finland as the pin was already showing galling at less than 150 miles (dry as a bone)! Unacceptable. Thanks to Vanasche for supporting another great add to this awesome bike.
