We are now stocking the KTM8-1 Link and KTM8-DAKAR Link from Kouba. This link can be used on the 690/701/700 bikes. None of the bikes require any additional modifications for mounting (ie no grinding necessary).  

KTM8-1:

  • 2008-2018 KTM 690 - 1" Lower
  • 2019+ KTM 690 - 1.25" Lower
  • Husqvarna 701 - 1.25" Lower
  • GasGas 700 - 1.25" Lower

KTM8-DAKAR:

  • 2008-2018 KTM690 - 3/8" Lower
  • 2019+ KTM 690 - 5/8" Lower
  • Husqvarna 701 - 5/8" Lower
  • GasGas 700 - 5/8" Lower

The links are CNC machined from billet aircraft grade aluminum. You can read install instructions and sag setting recommendations directly from the Kouba website: KOUBA

Disclaimer: Lowering the rear more than the front can change the geometry and could affect the handling. Lessening the rear sag and/or sliding the front fork tubes up will make it turn quicker but be less stable on the straits and visa versa.

KTM8-1: One Inch Drop On '23 690 Enduro

Satisfied with quality, ease of installation and results with KoubaLink KTM8-1 1.25" lowering link on my '23 690 Enduro R. Achieved 1" overall lowering with 1.25" lowering link in rear and raising forks 5/8" in triple clamps in front. Can now flat foot the bike on both sides with a 30" inseam. Looks good, works well, no negative effect on handling.
Also installed a shorter KTM 690 SMC-R SuMo side stand with enlarger foot, bike leans a bit more than desired but acceptable for now. Overall satisfied and recommend!
