Trying to decide which tread plate? Here are the basic differences:

The dowel pins don't 'bite' into the sole of the footwear as much. Ideal for softer soled shoes like work boots, hiking shoes, etc... These are geared more for the commuter or gravel road rider (not recommended for wet environments or hard soled motorcycle boots where you need the sharp biting edge of the set screws for proper traction).

The set screws offer superior traction and gives you the ability to change out lengths and effectively alter the angle of the surface. The setscrew plates offer the highest level of grip/traction. Each set of setscrew pegs comes with an entire set of 10mm and 12mm long screws as well as new cotter pins and an allen wrench.

One half inch makes a welcomed difference on a Tenere 700

Can a foot peg have TOO much grip…? Possibly. More on that later. I’ll begin with the fact that someone saw the need for a better, lower Tenere 700 foot peg to give riders with longer legs a little more room and as the title says, one half inch may not sound like much, but it is noticeable. Also, I wear a 47 boot and the extra length allows you to position it a little more casually on the peg. Now to the “grip” part of the review. I'm Guessing that 75%+ of Tenere 700’s sold in the US will never see a real rally which requires the rider to be firmly planted on the pegs for long fast sections. The 10-12mm set screws may be necessary for this or other extreme situations ( super slow technical). Having said that, the boots mentioned above are Forma Boulder’s, technically a trials boot with a super grippy mid sole section. Unfortunately, I have to contend with some stop and go traffic to get to and from where I ride and once planted on the pegs with the longer screws it was a bit tricky to make quick moves on the pegs to brake, shift and put your foot down in a sudden stop. Ordered 6mm and 8mm set screws from Belmetric for basically nothing ( 5-8 cents ea.) and experimented mixing lengths at different parts of the peg where the boot makes contact and came up with a perfect combination and still offering plenty of grip. It’s the adjustability that make these pegs unbeatable. Bottom line…VM has made a financial commitment to manufacture parts that improve the ride quality of the bikes we love. They are to be commended and supported. Plus, the swag stickers don’t disappoint, especially the one with an IPA as an integral part of the ride.

Great build quality and straightforward install. Husqvarna needs to have a factory “Vanasche Edition” because Vanasche has a fix for almost all of the 701’s flaws. Great bike but Vanasche makes it better. Worth the extra money.

Great product

The looks and quality of the pegs are impressive and the ability to lower them makes the riding position much more comfortable when seated on the bike. 10/10!
