As with everything Vanasche the design and build quality is top notch! It's much heftier than I thought based on the pictures. But it does replace your existing brake caliper mount so it's not all new weight.
I purchased for my 701 Enduro because I dragged my brake disk over a giant slab of rock in a slot canyon on a trip to AZ. Luckily no damage to the disk, but having this on will let the guard take the abuse first.

The only thing I worry about is when you beef up a component in one area will it cause failures elsewhere. IE, the machined slots on your swingarm that this mounts to. I wonder if I take a hit hard enough will I damage those requiring a swingarm replacement vs just replacing a damaged disk. Granted that seems like it would require a great deal of force to happen. But it's a similar concern with things like shift levers, you want them to fail before they break what they are attached to. Nonetheless it looks great (got the black) and I'm confident my brake disk will never get damaged.

Andrew, i just installed the rear disc guard tonight. It was a breeze to install if you know how to remove the caliper. The shark fin is robust and i know this is gonna save my rotor when the going to rough. I like your catalog and how its focused on my my bike. I only wish you would expand the offerings. One thing I’m looking for are cheap plastic swing arm guards. Had them on my dirt-bike but for some reason no one wants to make them for the big 701. I did find some in CF but thats just bling. I want the cheap soft plastic ones to prevent marring up my swingarms.

I was originally concerned that it was weighting too much until I realized that it replaces the OEM break caliper holder.
